S.E.A Aquarium, Singapore

S.E.A Aquarium

On the 8th February, Saturday; my cousin and I went to S.E.A World Aquarium at Sentosa, Singapore.

It is the world's largest aquarium. Each display and exhibition is carefully constructed and designed to look just like the real coral reef/ocean.

All the sea creatures there seems energetic and alive.
Though I saw one or two dead fishes stucked on the coral reed. Oh and I don't know whether these jellyfishes are sleeping or dead.

The aquarium is fairly big and filled with exciting exhibition. From mesmerizing jellyfishes to beautiful coral reef.
There are 10 exciting exhibitions in total; Straits of Karimata & Java sea, Straits of Malacca & Andaman sea, Bay of Bengal & Laccadive sea, Ocean journey, Open Ocean, Persian Gulf & Arabian Sea, Red sea, East Africa, South China sea and Shark seas.

THE HIGLIGHT

There are plenty of fishes in the sea, or aquarium should I say, but here as some of the highlights you shouldn't miss!

DISCOVERY TOUCH POOL

Get in touch and interact with turtles, sea urchins, sea star and lots more at the Discovery Touch Pool at the Straits of Malacca & Andaman sea exhibit.

SHARK EMBRYOS

See the sharks' embryos up close and watched the fetuses twerk. A remarkable sighting!

JELLYFISH EXHIBITION

There's plenty of different jellyfish species & tanks at Ocean Journey which is absolutely remarkable and breathtaking! The lights in the tanks brings out the elegance and magnificence of the jellyfishes.
Recharge your energy with the electrifying pulsating dances of the translucent sea jelly species like the trailing long-tentacled lion’s mane sea jelly, the captivating neon blue sea jelly and the larger-than-life moon sea jelly.

WATCH THE DOLPHIN

Come face-to-face with the indo-pacific bottlenose dolphins. Though you can't really see them up close but you can still watch them from the tank which is pathetically far from where the dolphins swim or play around.

SHARKS!

Stepped into the underwater tunnel at Shark Seas and watch the sharks swim above and beside you.
There are a lot of shark species such as the scalloped hammerhead shark, the powerful and aggressive silvertip shark, and the sandbar shark - one of the largest coastal sharks in the world.
Absolutely beautiful sight!

LARGEST AQUARIUM EVER

Open Ocean exhibit holds the World's largest acrylic display panel. It's a huge aquarium which filled with gentle giants of the sea like the leopard shark, goliath grouper, saw fish, mahi mahi and a never-before-seen squadron of magnificent manta rays.

THE FEES

There were 3 of us and total price of the tix is SGD$84
$$28 per ticker
**Student price - show your id

My cousins bought some snacks in the aquarium. The prices of the food in the aquarium itself is really really expensive and rather silly. I dont find a tasteless $7 hotdog bun appetizing.

DINING

But they do have an absolutely beautiful and delicious fine dining at Ocean Restaurant.
Dine at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora, Singapore’s first aquarium dining experience in collaboration with renowned “Iron Chef” and the only female celebrity chef foray into Singapore, Cat Cora.

Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11am-10.30pm (last order at 10pm)
Admission to Ocean Restaurant is via West Zone Carpark, B1M.
Diners can park near Equarius Hotel.

VERDICT

My cousins and I really had a fun time. The views and exhibition there is breathtaking and beautiful. It made us think about the magnificence of god's creation. Subhanallah. We give it a 9.5/10.

We were feeling hungry after all that walk, so we decided to have a late lunch at Fish & Co, Vivo city. We had fish & chips. Pretty ironic.
