 ISTANA WOODNEUK

Went to Istana Woodneuk on 31st March 2015;

for our Image Narration final project.

The place itself is simply stunning and breathtaking

Surprisingly it took us around half an hour to get there

 

The direction was pretty straightforward

But the pathway was indeed steep and abrupt

 It wasn't that creepy as I expected

Quite a number of photographers were there too

Oh and brace yourself for the army of mosquitoes

Brief history

Easily one of Singapore’s largest private residences in the late 19th century and early 20th century, Istana Woodneuk was one of the two royal palaces owned by Johor Sultan Abu Bakar ibni Daing Ibrahim (1833-1895), 21st Sultan of Johor.

 

It was built for the Sultan’s fourth wife, Sultana Khadijah. The blue-roof palace was just as magnificent, consisting of the main building with two smaller houses by its side, possibly for the accommodation of servants or horses.

 

Istana Woodneuk’s owner Sultana Khadjah died in this grand house in 1904.

The dilapidated house as well as the land still belong to the royal family of Johor.

2015 countdown + 9th Anniversary

31st December 2014; spent my last hours of 2014 with my BFF over at Universal Studios Singapore.
And also to celebrate our 9th Anniversary together!

We went in into USS around 6-7pm and it was crowded and boring. I mean come on, we've been to USS for couple of times this year alone. 

 

But they do have stunning line up performances! From knocked off Black Eyed Peas to lighted stick man to incredible led drummers!

 

 

So we decided to explore around Sentosa. And by exploring, I mean getting lost in the woods and running away from rodents and drunk people. Nasty.

 

We finally ended up at beach station and decided to take the skyride. The sea breeze, the blasting song and the astounding night view. It was beautiful.

 

We went back into USS and took couple of rides, photobombed innocent people, and walked around aimlessly.

 

It was 11pm and we decided to find the best sit for the fireworks and apparently we weren't fast enough. But we did find our self a best sit!
They have this lazer LED show and it was just so spectacular and picturesque!

 

There was no countdown but the fireworks was breathtaking! It was crazy to have a firework display right infront of you! It was like 3-5 minutes? Sadly my camera died halfway. But it's okay we get to enjoy it without any distraction.
Totally awe-inspiring. Just look at these pics!

 

 

After the firework display was over we rushed out to get supper at McD.
It was crowded but it was thrilling and exciting!

 

 And yes, the nearest McD is at Beach station which is filled with drunk rodents.
They were all over the road and grass. Nasty.

Oh and honey dear; stop drinking if you can't take it anymore.
Entering a public toilet filled with vomit stench and puke is revolting.
For heaven sake the party ends at 6 am so why the hell you get wasted when it's only 1 am jeez!

We reached my place around 3 am and oh god were we worn out!
